Mission...
Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of
low-income homeowners.
Rebuilding Together of
Richmond (formerly Christmas in April) is an affiliate of the national
Rebuilding Together
organization. It is a volunteer-based
program that repairs and rehabilitates homes and non-profit community
facilities. We help low income, elderly, and disabled people who own their
homes but are unable to maintain them.
The program is centered around a
one-day “blitz”, held the last Saturday in April, when over 1500 volunteers each
year make both major and minor repairs to qualified homes. Our focus is to
provide warmth, safety, and independence to the elderly and disabled. We are
rebuilding homes, and rebuilding lives.

Hundreds Turn Out For Rebuilding Day
Nearly 1500 enthusiastic volunteers showed up bright
and early for Rebuilding Together's National Rebuilding Day on April 25.
Over 40 local families will now live in healthier, safer homes thanks to our
sponsors and volunteer teams who worked throughout the day.
Repairs ran the gamut from adding handrails, improving
lighting and removing trip hazards to complete bathroom remodeling, roofing,
plumbing, furnaces, doors, windows and floors. Also provided were
power washing, pest control, grab bars, bath benches, locks and peepholes,
rebuilt stoops and steps.
Visit our photo gallery
over the next few weeks as we add photos of teams from Rebuilding Day.
